Water Baptism Sign-up

According to Scripture, there are three distinct rites of baptism described (Hebrews 6:1-2; Acts 19:4; Romans 6:3-4; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Matthew 3:11). The most known and recognized is the practice of water baptism. Water baptism is full immersion or submersion in water. At Urban Hope Church, we routinely designate the last portion of our services on the last Sunday of every month as the time and place for this public proclamation of faith. Physically, baptism symbolizes the believer’s burial with Christ at His death, and then resurrection to new life with Him. The believer’s old sin nature is dead and buried, having been washed clean by the blood of Jesus, and when they come out from the water, they are newly alive with Him. Spiritually, water baptism is a public agreement between the believer and Jesus in which the candidate chooses to become a part of the Body of Christ as manifested in the local church, and willingly submits to the leadership of the church’s pastoral care.
